Всемирный день конфет — праздник всех сладкоежек! Впрочем, думаю, всеобщий праздник, ведь вряд ли найдётся хотя бы один человек, который не любит или не любил конфеты в детстве. Этот день конфет объединил не только тех, кто не может отказать себе в удовольствии съесть любимую конфету, но и тех, кто имеет непосредственное отношение к процессу производства этого лакомства.
А знаете ли вы, что конфеты изначально были лекарством? Ведь даже само слово «конфета» переводится с латыни как «приготовленное снадобье». Первоначально небольшие сладкие изыски наделяли магической сверхъестественной силой.
Люди давно заметили, что сладкие продукты обладают качеством поднимать настроение и даже бодрость. Это стало причиной того, что шоколадные конфеты продавались одно время в аптеках! Аптекари предлагали конфеты, как средство от кашля и нервных расстройств. Сегодня исследователи утверждают о выработке так называемых гормонов счастья в процессе употребления шоколада. Так что используемый аптекарями термин «конфета» уже позже стал обозначать один из видов кондитерской продукции.
Есть мнение, что конфеты появились ещё в эпоху Древнего Египта более трёх тысяч лет назад, абсолютно случайно, когда по воле случая смешалось содержимое опрокинутых сосудов: орехи, мёд и инжир и получились первые конфеты.
На Востоке для изготовления конфет использовали в основном фиги и миндаль.
Большой популярностью пользуются арабские или восточные сладости. Именно арабы стали использовать первыми сахар в приготовлении конфет. Неизменным ингредиентом были и различные орехи, а также сухофрукты. На тот момент все сладости представляли собой продукт ручной работы, а часто становились плодом воображения, творческой мысли и кондитерского эксперимента. Так рождались новые идеи и новые виды сладостей, в том числе и конфет.
О вреде и пользе конфет можно спорить бесконечно, достоверно то, что они являются источником глюкозы, которая является питательным веществом для организма, с их помощью можно придать сил организму и поднять настроение. Но есть их нужно в меру, иначе это грозит лишим весом и разнообразными проблемами со здоровьем.
Самые известные конфеты — пралине. Рецепт их приготовления был изобретен еще в 1663 году поваром специально для французского посла в Германии. Пралине до сих пор бьют рекорды по продажам в Германии и Швейцарии.
Интересные факты о конфетах
Самая «неземная» конфета – «Чупа-Чупс». Именно этот леденец попал в космос по просьбе российских космонавтов в 1995 году. На тот момент Центр по управлению полетами решил, что сладость на палочке – это единственные безопасные в невесомости конфеты. Видео космонавтов с чупа-чупсами принесло компании Chupa Chups мировую славу.
