Сегодня мы отмечаем день основания нашего замечательного города – Ростова-на-Дону. Донская столица богата большим количеством мест для отдыха, различными достопримечательностями и ,конечно, же своей историей. Предлагаем Вашему вниманию квест «Жизнь течёт рекой», пройдя который Вы сможете узнать что-то новое об истории нашего города.

Предлагаем Вам исторический обзор «Из прошлого в настоящее», в котором представлены справки о достопримечательностях города, и сравнение их внешнего вида с момента основания и как они выглядят сейчас.

Наш город издавна славится разнообразными байками и легендами. Наверняка, многие их знают или слышали. Предлагаем познакомиться с некоторыми из них.

Купание в фонтане

В 1933 году в центральном городском саду, в начале главной аллеи, реконструировали фонтан, демонтировав обветшавшую фигуру наяды и оставив на этом  месте пирамиду из дикого камня. Из её центра веером расходились водные струи. В послевоенные годы в этом фонтане установили скульптуру «Цапли».

А в этот воскресный день 1933 года у обновлённого фонтана оказались молодые архитекторы Леонид Эберг и Ян Ребайн, скульптор Евгений Вучетич. Их тогда сдружила и связала работа на строительстве нового грандиозного драматического театра. Каждому из троих  около 25 : жизнь –всласть, работа – в радость; всё за что брались в избранной профессии, удавалось. Вучетич был в тот день особенно весело настроен.

  — А спорим, сейчас искупаю в фонтане первого встречного? – храбрился он.

— Да где тебе? – подзадоривали друзья.

— А спорим, того  — в шляпе? – указал он на приближающегося прохожего.

— Да слабо тебе! – смеялись друзья.

Вучетич дождался, когда прохожий в шляпе и очках приблизился, схватил его в охапку и бросил в чашу фонтана. Всё произошло так стремительно, что человек даже не успел испугаться. А через полминуты, когда понял, что произошло, и увидел трёх смеющихся друзей, закричал:

 — Хулиганы!       

А они уже помогали ему выбраться из воды, доставали портфель, шляпу, очки, по счастью уцелевшие. Извинялись за буйную шутку. Но пострадавший не унимался, призывая на помощь милицию. В аллее замелькала милицейская форма. Насмешники бросились врассыпную. На следующий день шутников нашли. Случайным прохожим оказался ответственный товарищ – заместитель председателя горисполкома. Им пришлось снова приносить извинения за свою шутку, а также получить административные выговоры за хулиганство. Но более сурового наказания они  избежали. Уж очень нужны на строительстве драматического театра. А байка о купании  в фонтане неоднократно пересказывалась друзьям и близким.

За что любят бронзового «коробейника» у городского парка

«Торгуй праведно —  в барышах будешь!» — написано на коробе бронзового торговца, установленного рядом с кондитерской «Золотой колос» на Большой Садовой улице в 1999 году. Скульптура эта, размещённая прямо на тротуаре, понравилась ростовчанам сразу – и за лихой нрав персонажа, и за девиз, и за очаровательного кота у ног корбейника.

У этой фигуры часто фотографируются и ростовчане, и гости города. Кота любят обнимать и ласкать дети. Даже приметы появились: «Если взрослый бросит монетку в короб торговца и подержится за его указательный палец – будет удача в бизнесе»;

«Если ребёнок погладит мордочку и хвост кота – будут любить и баловать родители». И как не поверить в эти приметы, когда палец коробейника и мордочка, и хвост кота от множества поглаживаний и прикосновений блестят. А монетки скоро уже не будут помещаться в бронзовый короб.

Приведённые тексты во многом дополняют официальную биографию Ростова-на-Дону, помогают понять душу города, менталитет его жителей. Многочисленные исторические и современные фотоиллюстрации, сопровождающие тексты, создают образ меняющегося, но во все времена оптимистического города.
